PRIVACY POLICY

Summary: GlowStrike collects minimal data. We use anonymous authentication, store game progress in the cloud, and do not sell or share your personal information with anyone. No ads, no tracking, no personal data required to play. Optional in-app purchases are processed by Apple — we never see or store your payment information.
1. Introduction
GlowStrike ("the App") is a mobile game developed by Harjot Singh Panesar ("we", "us", "our"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.
By using GlowStrike, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Anonymous Identifier
When you first open the app, Firebase Authentication creates an anonymous user ID. This ID:
- Is randomly generated and not linked to your real identity
- Does not require an email, name, phone number, or any personal information
- Is used solely to save your game progress and leaderboard scores
2.2 Game Data
We store the following gameplay data linked to your anonymous ID:
- Player profile: display name (you choose this), gold balance, upgrade levels, unlocked characters
- Run history: survival time, enemies killed, level reached, gold earned
- Leaderboard entries: display name, survival time, kill count, character used
- Purchase entitlements: which optional in-app items (characters, boosts, skins, bundles) you have unlocked, so they remain available across sessions and devices
2.3 In-App Purchase Data
All in-app purchases are processed entirely by Apple's App Store and StoreKit. We never receive, see, or store your payment method, credit card number, billing address, or Apple ID.
What we do store is only the result of a successful purchase — a record of which item was unlocked, linked to your anonymous ID — so your purchases persist across devices and reinstalls. Apple's handling of your payment information is governed by the Apple Privacy Policy.
2.4 What We Do NOT Collect
- Real name, email address, or phone number
- Location data
- Photos, contacts, or files
- Health data
- Payment methods, credit card numbers, or billing information (handled exclusively by Apple)
- Advertising identifiers
- Browsing or search history
3. How We Use Your Data
The data we collect is used exclusively for:
- Saving game progress so you can continue across sessions
- Leaderboards so you can compare scores with other players
- Game functionality such as achievements, run history, and meta-upgrades
- Restoring purchases so optional in-app content you have bought is available across your devices and after reinstalling the app
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, analytics, or any purpose beyond core app functionality.
4. Data Storage and Security
Your game data is stored securely using Google Firebase (Firestore database), hosted on Google Cloud infrastructure. Data is:
- Encrypted in transit using TLS/SSL
- Protected by Firestore Security Rules that restrict access to only your own data
- Stored in compliance with Google Cloud's security standards
5. Third-Party Services
GlowStrike uses the following third-party services:
- Firebase Authentication (Google) - for anonymous user identity
- Cloud Firestore (Google) - for storing game data
- Apple StoreKit (Apple) - for processing in-app purchases and verifying purchase entitlements
Google services are governed by Google's Privacy Policy. Apple's handling of purchases and payment information is governed by the Apple Privacy Policy.
We do not integrate any advertising SDKs, analytics trackers, or social media SDKs.
6. In-App Purchases
GlowStrike is free to play. The app offers optional one-time in-app purchases — including additional playable characters, permanent gameplay boosts, weapon loadouts, cosmetic skins, and bundles — for users who want to expand their experience or support development. Nothing about the core gameplay loop requires a purchase.
Key facts about purchases:
- All purchases are one-time only. There are no subscriptions and no recurring charges.
- All transactions are processed by Apple's App Store. Pricing, currency, taxes, and refunds are handled by Apple under your existing App Store account terms.
- We never receive your payment method or billing details.
- Purchases can be restored on a new device using the "Restore Purchases" option in the app's Store.
- Refund requests must be made through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
- You can manage and disable in-app purchases at any time through your device's Screen Time → Content & Privacy Restrictions settings.
7. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your data with any third parties. The only data visible to other users is your leaderboard entry (display name and score), which you control.
8. Children's Privacy
GlowStrike does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. Since we use anonymous authentication and do not require any personal information, the app is safe for users of all ages. The app is rated 9+ for infrequent cartoon/fantasy violence. Parents can disable in-app purchases on their child's device through Screen Time settings.
9. Data Retention and Deletion
Your game data is retained as long as you use the app. You can delete all your data at any time by:
- Using the "Reset All Progress" button in the app's Settings
- Deleting the app from your device
- Contacting us at the email below to request server-side deletion
Note: deleting your data does not refund prior in-app purchases — refunds are handled exclusively by Apple. If you reinstall the app and sign in, restoring purchases will recover any items you previously bought.
10. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the data we store about you
- Delete your data at any time
- Use the app without providing any personal information
- Use the app without making any purchases
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
